Battle of Sector 675 by Itsomi Battle of Sector 675 by Itsomi
an alternate timeline for the federation.
stardate 47934.5. the USS Enterprise-D is on a surveying mission to map the Hikari Nebula, located beyond federation space. with recent borg activity increasing, the USS Melbourne is placed on standby at starbase 311, if the need should arise.
after several days, the enterprise makes contact with a strange vessle, claiming to be from the Terran Dominion. it demands that the Enterprise stand down and prepare for boarding. Picard tries to reason with the ship, but is fired upon in return. the USS Melbourne is called in, and a large battle ensues.
the Terran starship posseses limited manuverability, slow even comapred to a Galaxy-class starship. it also has no sheilding, but a form of avlative armour. so thick is this armour, that it acts almost as good as sheilds. after being cirvled by the Enterprise and Melbourne, the terran ship looses steam. the Enterprise and Melbourne fire their phasers full strangth, cutting through the armour...

this is loosley based off an ongoing RP I am having with one of my friends. at the moment, it is Federation and Terran Alliance and Prottos vs Terran Dominion vs Borg.

yes, it takes place in an alternat timeline, set a few months prior to when the dominion war started. it never happened in ths timeline, instead, the Enterprise found the Terrna, Prottos and Zerg, all in one day.

this piece is made entirely in Paint.Net. i'vemanaged to work out a way to do the perspective with the phasers, a combination of three lines, middle white, outer faded gold, and the outer two meet at one end and not the other. this can be stretched and warped to create the current phaser effect.

very proud of this, i want to do more trek photomanips

Star Trek is owned by Gene Roddenberry, StarCraft by Blizzard, and to make this clear, this is NOT the alternate reality terran empire with the ISS logo's.

The last time i remember, the Enterprise D Navigational deflector field prevents even lasers from getting through...
...and all of the Battlecruisers armaments are lasers...
...Big E should win by default.

Last time I checked, the Melbourne was destroyed at Wolf 359, but that doesn't mean Starfleet couldn't have come out with another one. They did same thing with Saratoga.

Maybe you should have the Borg and the Zerg run into each other. I'd pay to see that mayhem...

With or without Kerrigan? Because that would make a big difference. Kerrigan, unlike the Overmind, can fight, and she's pretty overpowered by the end of Heart of the Swarm. With her, the Zerg could probably beat the Borg. Otherwise, the Borg have superior numbers, even against the Zerg because they control a vast amount of space, a territory far larger than the Koprulu Sector, which the Zerg are limited to.

Kerrigan as of sometime between Brood War and Wings of Liberty.

The Borg also have the Superweapon advantage. In VOY's "Scorpion", they mention creating a "multi-kinetic neutronic mine", which would produce an explosion big enough to fuck up an entire solar system, and spread Borg nanites across a region several light-years wide, assimilating anyone caught in their way.

on ground i think the zerg would just tear appart borg drones, they have a brute strength unmatched by anything in star trek.
but in space, i think it would jsut be a single cube blowing up hordes of defenceless overminds and scraping the occasional mutalisk off their ship.
they cant assimalate them because every part of their genetic structure says "OBEY THE OVERMIND" printed in captials. assimalating them would be pointless and futile.
i think the borg would quickly adapt to have big-assed hulking land tanks to combat the zerg if they tried to fight them on ground. imagine, a huge cybernetic borg land tank fighting an ultralisk, shooting phaser beams and micro torpedoes.

Well, what if the Borg assimilate the Overmind? Or the Overmind creeps it's way into the Borg Collective? Or maybe, the Borg and the Zerg will look at each other, realize that they have identical goals, and start working together after each one is willfully assimilated by the other, and now we have Zerglings with adaptive shielding. We get creatures that have the Zerg's resistance to projectile weapons with the Borg's ability to adapt to energy weapons. In short, a nightmare. Now, if we add in the Replicators from Stargate...

i think any attempt would end in a similar way that the confrontation between the daleks and the cybermen did: with the borg utterly rejecting the proposal and vaporizing the shit out of the zerg.

"What is that?"
"YOU ARE BETTER AT DYING."

Unless the Zerg send in a ton of scourges to the Borg. It's stated in the manual that they attack by turning themselves into plasma. But that's the only space thing the Zerg have that would be a real threat to the Borg.

Now, suppose the Borg Queen and Kerrigan met face-to-face. BQ puts nanotubes into Kerrigan, and nanites assimilate her. Meanwhile, Zerg cells latch into the nanotubes and spread throughout BQ. Given what we've seen of how quickly both Borg and Zerg assimilations work, this would get interesting. Kerrigan would be assimilated by the Borg, and the Borg Queen would be infested by the Zerg. We now get either twin queens, or their conciousnesses merge, and they create a new body for both of them.

In case you're wondering where I'm getting the fast infestation from, in the game, a Queen can infest a Command Center in seconds. However, the Borg Queen and Kerrigan are only single individuals. And since Kerrigan is now Queen of the Zerg, It wouldn't be too unreasonable to assume that she could do some infesting for herself.
