Artist's Comments

This I've been working on for while. It's all of the current known Space worthy Starships named Enterprise.

I dont know if the VSS Enterprise (the second one) counts, cause its named after the star trek enterprise.

Well, the space shuttle was named for the Enterprise as well, so if it counts, the VSS Enterprise counts too ^_^

You're forgetting the nuclear carrier Enterprise, named after the WWII carrier Enterprise, named after a number of Frigates dating back to the revolutionary war (2 or 3 named Enterprise, I think), named after the British Enterprise, named after the French, which was captured, Enterprize, I think.

But I could be wrong on that... :)

So Say we all.

One of the serious problems in planning the fight against American doctrine, is that the Americans do not read their manuals, nor do they feel any obligation to follow their doctrine...

thats what most fans like to think, but i think officialy NASA would say its named after the actual real life enterprises.
the VSS enterprise has been officially named after the star trek one.

also, the space shuttle enterprise was in the star trek universe as a flying shuttle, and was in various ready rooms as paintings

well, thats actualy besides the point, the SST Enterpise has already apeared in star trek. various ready rooms have had painings, and a modle was seen in sisco's office of the SST Enterprise. regardless of what it was really named after, its still Star trek cannon. the VSS Enterprise is specificly named after the star trek enterprise, and is also a civilian passenger plane. so I'm not sure.

I agree, just pointing it out :XD: I think that the fact that it was merely a spacecraft qualifies it. Also, the XCV Enterprise was a passenger craft too, if I'm not mistaken.

I'm not sure what it was. i assumed it was a prototype for an anular warp drive, like the vulcans, hence the ring. i think after that they decided they werent for earth starfleet, and went backt the dual nacell layout.
